Hosted by the Alabama Academy of Science, with support from the University of South Alabama and Auburn University.

This is the Official Science Fair for the State Finals for students in the State of Alabama for the 2020-2021 school year.

Winners of Alabama’s Regional Fairs will complete HERE, in this virtual Fair environment.

The competition will occur over April 9th and 10th, 2021: Online Only Format.

Jr. Division Student Interviews: April 9th

Sr. Division Student Interviews: April 10th

The competition will be managed through CANVAS online learning management system. Each competitor will receive a CANVAS username and password, that can be easily changed and retrieved. Student will need access to a laptop, desktop, or tablet running Windows, Macintosh, or Chrome OS and have a microphone and webcam. Students will also need a .pdf or PowerPoint version of their poster to show to the judge while in Zoom so that they can share their screen with the judge and discuss the project together.

Inside the CANVAS course, students’ posters will be displayed in a VIRTUAL EXHIBIT HALL that looks like this:

Competitors will submit their poster as an Adobe .pdf using the provided template. Microsoft PowerPoint and Google Slides both allow for saving as a .pdf at no additional charge.

On the day of the event, students are encouraged to explore the other posters until their pre-assigned time to meet with the judges. Students will use the button to the left of their poster to enter their virtual Zoom meeting room. Students should be prepared to remain in this space for up to 1 hour  while judges move in and out of their virtual room to discuss their project. Each student should plan to speak with the judge(s) for 3 – 5 minutes about their poster.

*After ASEF is completed, all Regeneron ISEF Finalists must submit questionnaire and materials to ISEF by April 15,2021, in order to compete to get projects approved in time to compete.
