FELLOW OF THE ALABAMA ACADEMY OF SCIENCE

Request for Nominations


Beginning in 2006, the Alabama Academy of Science instituted a distinction of Fellow of the Alabama Academy of Science. The Fellow of the Alabama Academy of Science (FAAS) designation is awarded by the Academy to recognize individuals for their contributions in science and their services to the Academy. AAS members are invited to submit nominations for this award to the chair of the FAAS committee. You are welcome to make nominations using this electronic form.
The nominations for the Fellow of the Alabama Academy of Science distinction should consist of the following documents, which must be received by January 10th:
(i) Formal Nomination Letter highlighting the individual’s contributions in science and their services to the Academy
(ii) Vitae and at least three letters of references from experts who support this nomination and can address the contributions in science and service to the Academy, and
(iii) A one page citation that can be used for presentation of the award.

Anything missing from items (i, ii, iii) may result in rejection of the nomination.
The awards will be presented at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday evening during the awards banquet of the “Joint Annual
Meeting of Junior and Senior Alabama Academy of Science.
